Important Information

  • We will only accept Online registrations via our website for this event. 

  • Online Registration will CLOSE at 09:45 on the Sunday 7th January 2024. We reserve the right to reject any registrations made and accepted after this time. 

  • You will receive an email to confirm successful registration within a few minutes of doing so. Please check your Junk Mail box should it not arrive in your Inbox.

  • WATER STATIONS will be provided. if you have concerns about this then please bring and carry the hydration you need with you. 

  • Tea and Coffee will be available for purchase in the Village Hall between 08:30 and 12:00.

  • MEDALS will be available for all runners completing the race.

  • TROPHY’s will be awarded to all category winners and will be presented at 12:00 in the outdoor area to the rear of Woodcote Village Hall. Everyone is encouraged to stay to watch and applaud the winners.

  • All registered runners will receive an email confirming their race number together with general instructions for the day 7 days before the event (within 24 hours if registering in the 7 days before race day). Please remember to check your Junk mailbox.

CAR PARKING

  • Car parking spaces in Woodcote village ( RG8 0SD) are limited. We have the use of some car parking at Langtree School but this is strictly on a first come first served basis. Please aim to arrive well before 9.30am to avoid congestion. All vehicles and possessions are left at owner’s risk. Do NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES park on READING ROAD

 

REGISTRATION PACKS

  • Race Numbers & Timing Chips will be distributed from the Village Hall on race morning from 08.30. Please ensure you allow sufficient time to collect your pack, attach your race number etc and get to the race start which is c.200 metres away..

 

HEADPHONES

  • Our event is held on roads open to other traffic and in line UK Athletics rules the wearing and use of headphones is prohibited during the race for YOUR safety. 

 

RACE START

  • The race will commence at 10:15 a.m.

On the day entries:

 

  • Regrettably there will be no “ on the day registration” provision.  All registrations must be made Online before 09:45 on Sunday 7th January 2024.

Photographs

  • As in previous years, photographers will be present and photos may be published online and by the press. If you (or your parent/ carer if you are under 18) do not wish your image to appear as a significant part of any photograph that might be published on the web, on Social Media or in the press, please remove the 'photograph consent tick' on the entry form when you submit it.

Trophies

All Finishers recieve a medal - Trophies will be awarded to:

  • 1st Vet (40+) Male & Female

  • 1st Senior Vet (50+) Male & Female

  • 1st Vintage Vet (60+) Male & Female

BAGGAGE STORAGE:

A baggage storage area will be provided either in the Village Hall or under cover outside, and baggage may be left at your own discretion (we accept no liability for loss or damage to  baggage and valuables). When depositing Baggage, please ensure the luggage tag provided in your registration pack is securely fastened to it and that the number on it corresponds with your BIB number. YOU ARE encouraged to leave all personal possessions out of sight in your car.

 

DIRECTIONS: Woodcote is in South Oxfordshire, on the south side of the A4074, between Reading and Oxford.

 

First Aid  - Ambulance and first aiders will be in attendance

 

Entries will be acknowledged by email (don’t forget to check your junk mail folder). If you have sent an entry and not received an acknowledgement within 24 hours of the event please do not hesitate to contact the organisers via the 'contact us' form. Please ensure that we have a reliable e mail address for contacting you.

MARSHALS AND RACE OFFICIALS: Marshals and Race Officials will be identifiable by their yellow tabards. Some marshals will be providing car park assistance - and some will be operating the number collection desk. The majority of marshals will be sited at strategic points around the course. We would like to thank all marshals, who are volunteers and giving their time freely to the event.

General Instructions

  • The Village Hall will be open from 08:30 for collection of envelopes containing number bibs with timing tags and luggage labels. The team will have a full list of entrants; however it will speed up your registration if you can let them know your race number.

  • Enter the Hall through the double doors on the road entrance for pre registered runners. Please follow any Social Distancing guidelines that may be in place at all times. 
     

  • Once in the Hall you will see tables with volunteers who will issue you with an envelope; this contains your running number, race timing tag, instructions, baggage label, safety pins.
     

  • Number bibs have timing chips incorporated in them. There are no separate timing tags.
     

  • If you are intending to leave a bag at the baggage store, attach the tie on label and deposit it. When you return to retrieve this after the race please ensure you pick up your own bag with a tag number matching your race number.
     

  • Car Parks:  Parking is adjacent to the village hall and at Langtree School. There will be insufficient spaces for all runners, so please allow time to find an alternative space round the village if they are full. Please do not block anyone’s drive. This might mean a 7 -10 minute walk.
     

  • Lavatories are available in Langtree School, near the start, follow the signs or please ask one of us.
     

  • The course will be kilometre marked & marshalled, with water stations at the halfway point and at the finish.  A safety car will follow the last runner. The race will be attended by professional First Aiders.
     

  • Results will be available in real time at www.woodcote10k.org.uk All finishers can pick up a medal for completing the race at the finish point.
