Important Information

  • CAR PARK: Car parking spaces in Woodcote village ( RG8 0SD) are limited. We have the use of some car parking at Langtree School but this is strictly on a first come first served basis. Please aim to arrive well before 9.30am to avoid congestion. All vehicles and possessions are left at owner’s risk. Car sharing would be a huge help to reduce parking problems. Do NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES park on READING ROAD

  • There will be free hot drinks provided for runners both before and after the race. There will be a water station on route and one at the finish.  Toilet facilities will be available at Langtree School.

  • Race Numbers & Timing Chips will be distributed from the Village Hall on race morning. please allow time for this

  • HEADPHONES: Our event is held on roads open to other traffic, therefore for YOUR safety, headphones are prohibited

  • The race will commence at 10:15am prompt

Full results will be available in near real time via the 'Results Tab'

On the day entries:

 

We usually have about 150 entries on the day. 
We are limited to a maximum of 600 entries. We have never exceeded this number, however if it looks likely that we are getting close to the maximum, a warning notice will be put on this website. As on the day entries take longer to process please allow plenty of time.

Photographs

As in previous years, Barry Cornelius plans to take photographs of the race for publication on his website http://www.oxonraces.com/photos/2020-01-12-woodcote/ and for possible use by the press. You will be able to  download his photos free of charge.  If you (or your parent/carer if you are under 18) do not wish your image to appear as a significant part of any photograph that he publishes on the web or provides to the press, please remove the 'photograph consent tick' on the entry form when you submit it.

Trophies

All Finishers recieve a medal - Trophies will be awarded to: 

 

  • Cup for 1st over the line (returnable)

  • 1st - 2nd- 3d Male & Female 

  • 1st Vet (40+) Male & Female

  • 1st Senior Vet (50+) Male & Female

  • 1st Vintage Vet (60+) Male & Female

  • 1st Junior Male & Female

BAGGAGE STORAGE: Baggage may be left at your own risk in the Village Hall.

 

DIRECTIONS: Woodcote is in South Oxfordshire, on the south side of the A4074, between Reading and Oxford.

 

First Aid  - Ambulance and first aiders will be in attendance

Entries will be acknowledged by email. If you have sent an entry and not received an acknowledgement within 10 days please do not hesitate to contact the organisers via the 'contact us' form. Please ensure that we have a reliable e mail address for contacting you

LATE REGISTRATION and LATE ENTRY PICK-UP: Runners arriving on the day to pay late entry fees or to collect their Running Number must go to Race HQ. The Late Registration Desk will open at 8.15am and close at 9.45 am prompt.

 

MARSHALS AND RACE OFFICIALS: Marshals and Race Officials will be identifiable by their yellow tabards. Some marshals will be providing car park assistance - and some will be operating the Number Collection and Late Registration Desks. The majority of marshals will be sited at strategic points around the course. We would like to thank all marshals, who are volunteers and giving their time freely to the event.

 

PRESENTATIONS: The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held in the Village Hall at 11.45am.

 

If you have registered on line, you will receive an email with your race number and these instructions.

 

General Instructions

  • The Village Hall will be open from 08:15 for collection of envelopes containing number bibs with timing tags and luggage labels. The team will have a full list of entrants; however it will speed up your registration if you can let them know your race number.
     

  • Enter the Hall through the double doors on the road entrance for pre registered runners On the day registration is on the playing field side.
     

  • Once in the Hall you will see tables with volunteers who will issue you with an envelope; this contains your running number, race timing tag, instructions, baggage label, safety pins.
     

  • Number bibs have timing chips incorporated in them. There are no separate timing tags.
     

  • If you are intending to leave a bag in the Village Hall, attach the tie on label and deposit it with the volunteers in the main hall. When you return to retrieve this after the race please produce your race number.
     

  • Refreshments will be available, free of charge, to runners, in the annex, before and after the event. Access the annex from the Village Green door accessed from the hall car park.
     

  • Car Parks:  Parking is adjacent to the village hall and at Langtree School. There will be insufficient spaces for all runners, so please allow time to find an alternative space round the village if they are full. Please do not block anyone’s drive. This might mean a 7 -10 minute walk.
     

  • Lavatories are available in Langtree School, near the start, follow the signs or please ask one of us.
     

  • The course will be kilometre marked & marshalled, with water stations at the halfway point and at the finish.  A safety car will follow the last runner. The race will be attended by professional First Aiders.
     

  • Results will be shown on a monitor in the Refreshment Annex. Prize Giving will commence at approx. 12:00.  All finishers will receive their medals at the finish point. If you expect to be amongst the category trophy winners, please check your position before leaving.
     

  • There will be a link to RESULTS on this website, once the race has finished.
